I am up a few pounds over the last two weeks and started at 246.4 pounds. I feel ready and engaged to stick to my plan. I went out and bought my weekly food supplies. I do best with a fairly simple menu. I started by drinking 12 oz of ice cold water as soon as I woke up. It speeds up metabolism by up to 24% and it cleanses the colon. I drank over 64 ounces of water today too, and visited the bathroom more than any person should have to in one day! (TMI? Sorry! You might want to check out now, because a blog about diet/health/fitness is sure to be full of TMI)
Zuccini “pasta” thanks to my new veggie noodle maker. I grabbed a jar of organic marinara at Trader Joes (TJs) that has no soy, cheese or gluten in it. Followed again with a fruit. Mid day snack of almonds and fruit.
Dinner will normally be a lean meat and a few veggie sides. Tonight’s meat was an 8oz filet that I took out of the freezer over the weekend but didn’t eat and just couldn’t bear to let it go to waste. Red meat and pork will be sparing in my diet. Mostly due to the amount of hormones normally in cows and pigs (even the organic, free range type) to try to reduce the two large fibroids left in me and deter any further fibroid growth. Picked up a HUGE North American Wild Cod and plan to portion it and freeze individual portions. Found a great gluten free and cheese free recipe on Pinterest that I would like to try. It wasn’t as easy as you might think… apparently most people really like bread crumbs and parmesan on their fish.
To curb my MASSIVE sweet tooth, I love putting a frozen banana thru my Yonana and drizzle it with just a little honey. I wait until the banana is pretty ripe before freezing them, so they are really sweet. The honey just gives it a little something extra.
All in all today I took in 1174 calories… just shy of 1200. I didn’t workout today other than getting in about 5000 steps on my fitbit. I am still nursing a sore shin from wearing heals out on the town Friday night. My goal is to add different things to my workout repertoire to keep things fresh. Walking, my elliptical, Jillian Michaels DVDs, Zumba/Dance Fitness classes. But I keep hearing that losing weight is 70% diet and 30% fitness, so I feel confident that as long as I am tracking my food and staying under my caloric goal, with workouts 4-5 days a week, it will all slowly melt off.
The hardest part of my day was not walking out into the convenience store that my office is attached to and plowing thru the fresh baked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies after a stressful afternoon disagreement. But I stuck to my guns and just practiced some deep breathing. If anyone has any tips for how to handle stress as a stress eater, I am all ears.
